In 1959, Arnold A. de Haan (1932-2012) founded the firm A.A. de Haan Mineral Oils in Rotterdam. The later holding company Hametha B.V. originates from his initiative. In 1965, the company moved to Alblasserdam and subsequently established the main offices at Slotlaan in Oosterhout. The corporation is currently led by the second and third generation descendants of founder A.A. de Haan.
The company has been built on shared family values regarding good employment and personal commitment to public issues like poverty reduction, equal opportunity, and sustainability. Furthermore, innovative entrepreneurship and long-term relations with employees, customers and suppliers define the lively and informal organisational culture. Loyalty is a given in a family business, and at Hametha it is the driver for sustainability.
